Potable Water / Drinking water should be distinguished between Potable water and Direct Drinking water.

Potable water is an indispensable resource in our daily life, covering water for drinking and various daily uses, such as bathing, washing vegetables, washing dishes, etc. It mainly refers to the raw water through the fine treatment of water plants, such as coagulation, precipitation, filtration and disinfection, and then transported to thousands of households through pipelines. Potable water is mainly concerned with the safety of water quality.

1. It is required not to contain pathogenic microorganisms to avoid the occurrence and spread of diseases and infectious diseases.

2. Chemicals and radioactive substances in water cannot pose a threat to human health, and cannot cause acute or chronic poisoning and potential long-term hazards (carcinogenicity, teratogenicity, mutagenesis, etc.).

3. Drinking water must be sensual and people enjoy drinking it.

With regard to direct drinking water, the standard requirements of different countries and regions will be different. In addition to meeting the basic requirements of potable water, attention should also be paid to the purity and taste of water quality. The general requirements are as follows:

1. Does not contain toxic, harmful, and smelly substances;

2. Moderate water hardness, calcium carbonate as an example, 50~200 mg/L is appropriate;

3. The proportion of minerals and trace elements contained in water is similar to that in human body fluids, such as calcium content ≥8mg/L;

4. The PH value is neutral or weak alkaline, the ideal PH value is about 7;

5. Dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide content in water moderate, oxygen content ≥6 mg/L, carbon dioxide content 10-30 mg/L;

6. The physiological function of water should be strong enough, such as permeability, solubility, metabolism, etc.

Our company provides water supply and drainage system valves to meet drinking water requirements. At present, butterfly valves and gate valves have WRAS certification, and other products and media contact surfaces can also use materials with drinking water certification.
