Generally raw water refers to natural water sources collected in nature, including groundwater, rivers, lakes, mountain spring water, reservoir water and other natural sources, or refers to the water collected into the first treatment unit of the water treatment plant, which has not undergone any artificial purification treatment and contains a large amount of impurities and microorganisms.
For raw water intake process valves, the head raw water valve is characterized by a large valve diameter, and no need to operate frequently, most of which need to be operated once a year or even several years. The valve is normally open or normally closed for a long time. Therefore, from the control method, more than 95% of the selection is a manual valve, and the valve types are butterfly valve or gate valve. Gate valves in the head loss are better than butterfly valves, however, butterfly valves in the installation, operation, and economic cost are better than gate valves, especially for size larger than DN1600, it is recommended to use butterfly valve.
